About

While living on Dove St. in San Diego, Jason (Jay) Rudeen had a personal awakening about his true career aspirations, and left a graduate school program in psychology to pursue nonfiction filmmaking.  He has since lived and worked in Southern California, Northern California, New York City, and his native Minneapolis/St. Paul, before setting up shop in Philadelphia.

Working with dozens of talented creators over the years, he's contributed to several recognized and award-winning projects which have garnered a Student Emmy, a Northern California Regional Emmy, national PBS broadcasts, Primetime Emmy nominations, a James Beard award, a Peabody, and an Academy Award nomination.

He now works happily on documentary, television and commercial projects, and loves the entire media-making process, working successfully as producer, director, interviewer, cameraman, location sound, post-production coordinator and researcher...but if forced to choose he'd pick the edit suite and the writer's chair.  He's been told by a few people he's one of the best story editors they've worked with.
